Cyber Resilience for Wind Power Installations

In support of a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Wind Energy Technologies Office (WETO) project, the teams at Idaho National Laboratory and Sandia National Laboratories built a high-fidelity implementation of wind turbine generators, site controlsystems, and communication architectures, which established the physical and cyber benefits to incorporating cybersecurity technologies in wind sites.

NIST plots biggest ever reform of Cybersecurity Framework

The US National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is planning significant changes to its Cybersecurity Framework (CSF) – the first in five years, and the biggest reform yet.

 

For the first time, the new framework will have a significant focus on supply chain risk management, helping and encouraging organizations to address third-party risks of all kinds, from cloud computing to computers, software and networking equipment, along with the non-technology supply chain.
